Maritime Dreams and Nautical Aspirations? Boat Transport Helps

Boat Shipping

Have you got a big dream?

The Wright Brothers wanted to fly. Amelia Earhart envisioned a solo flight across the Atlantic. Edmund Hillary scaled Mount Everest, with the help of Tenzing Norgay, of course.

Perhaps your aspirations run more toward full sails and the likes of Ferdinand Magellan and Vasco de Gama - explorers with full crews, of course, and the backing of throne and treasury.

Watercraft shipping, so you can dream easier.

Thankfully, in your modern day adventures, you won't have to worry about krakens, scurvy, or walking the plank. And, with professional watercraft shipping, anywhere in the US or the world, you'll have even fewer logistics to worry about.

Sailing the Intracoastal Waterway in a Houseboat

We have a friend, let's call him Fred. Our good friend retired young after selling his computer consulting business in the late 90s. Fred claims most people say they'd love to go sailing because they don't know what they're talking about. He thinks we say it to satisfy peer pressure and because we've got this romantic, sunset image of sailing with champagne glasses in hand. Truly sailing, he says, is hard work.

That's why he wants to "sail" the entire Intracoastal Waterway in a luxury houseboat. Starting at either Tarpon Springs or Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and continuing 3,000 miles to the Manasquan Inlet in New Jersey.

Plenty of time for champagne sunsets when you're under power. Is it a staycation if you're in your own home, on your own front porch, the whole time?

The only reason Fred hasn't embarked on his once-in-a-lifetime vacation is he's looking for someone to enjoy it with.

Domestic Houseboat Transport – from anywhere in the US

Fred lives deep in the heart of Dixie, essentially landlocked. He keeps his houseboat at a local marina on an inland lake.

Someday soon when he finds Mrs. Right, he'll hire a premium vehicle shipping company, like DAS, to pick up his boat and deliver it to the rendezvous point. No hassle for him. Plus, it will save him time for sight-seeing with his lady love on their way to meet the boat at port, where they'll break a bottle of champagne over the "hull" for good luck.

Setting Sail from Hawaii, North to Alaska

Like the Intracoastal Waterway, this is not an uncommon route. We hear it takes just over two months, depending on your craft and time of year.

Some intrepid souls plan this trip for the whole family while school's out. This makes for the best "What I Did on Summer Vacation" report ever.

Other no-less-adventuresome spirits plan the same trip, without the accompaniment of teens and tweens, for their honeymoon, to start off retirement right, or to celebrate their diagnosis of being cancer-free.

Regardless of your reason for undertaking such an epic journey, we salute you!

Watercraft Shipping to and from Hawaii and Alaska

If you and your kids only have two-and-a-half months of summer vacation, you'll probably need to take extra care to tighten your schedule. You won't have time to sail your boat from its home port to your starting point in the Hawaiian islands. In fact, you may pick the kids up on the last day of school and fly out. It makes more sense to meet your boat in Hawaii, sail it to Alaska, drop it off in good hands, fly home, and drive the kids to school from the airport.

Even if you're newly retired or celebrating a victory over cancer, you simply may not wish to spend so much of your time on the open sea – getting your yacht to and from the actual route.

That's where we come in.

DAS can ship your boat, overland and oversea, anywhere in the world.
Whether you need to ship your sailboat to Hawaii or home from Alaska, or if you need to ship your houseboat from Tennessee to Fort Lauderdale, or if you want to ship your yacht to the Mediterranean, we have the expertise, experience, and custom equipment to deliver for you.
