Implementing cloud based architecture improves productivity and service

(DALLAS) Nov. 18, 2013 – Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS), one of the largest auto transport companies in the U.S. since 1954, announced today it has been invited to speak at Dreamforce, Salesforce.com's annual conference to be held in San Francisco Nov. 18-21. DAS will discuss its recent partnership with 2lemetry to completely overhaul its enterprise management platform. By combining the powers of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Salesforce.com, DAS will significantly streamline operations resulting in improved and expanded customer service and operational efficiencies.
Tim Higgins, executive vice president at DAS, will join 2lemetry for a breakout session titled 'IoT and Salesforce - Driving Business Transformation Together'. The session is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis in Salons 13, 14 and 15 of the Yerba Buena Ballroom. "This enterprise system overhaul, utilizing 2lemetry and Salesforce.com technology, will ultimately give DAS the ability to improve business operations and be significantly more customer-focused," said Higgins. In recent years, as DAS is approaching what will be its 60th anniversary in 2014, company executives were reevaluating certain business processes to see how they could overhaul their current technology to improve operations. In early 2013, Higgins, who oversees all operations for the company, wanted to implement specific technology to provide actionable accountability in the company's shipping and tracking process.
Higgins joined forces with 2lemetry to build a cloud-based, Salesforce.com-integrated customer platform that is accessible via a web browser as well as handheld devices. This new management infrastructure allows employees to manage every communication attempt with customers and major clients, as well as take action on events in real-time, giving the service and operations team the tools needed to be more productive and communicative with service providers and customers.
"With our legacy management system, we could document the vehicle shipping status, but it didn't provide an environment where we could be actionable and productive in how we actually manage the status of each vehicle," added Higgins. "This new dashboard allows the team to spend 100 percent of their time on the phone with customers, instead of manually tracking the status of service providers via phone and email, giving us the ability to be more customer-centric."
